No one could tell a better story than Uncle Gene. He shared many of his experiences throughout the years with us and he will truly be missed.

Gene and I grew up together and we had lost touch through the years but he never forgot to wish me happy birthday. Will miss my fellow Northsider.

Gene was the best brother-in-law. He was always ready to chat and send emails about "the good old days" and politics. He always had a supply of books ready to lend. We will miss him.

We'll really miss Uncle Gene and join all in praying for him and for all of his beloved family and friends. There are so many fond memories, and I can't think of a single negative one. His stories were the best, whether they were about trains, cars, his time in the service, etc. It was always fun playing bumper pool, darts and other games with him at Grandpa Al's house. I always admired Uncle Gene's ability to build things and fix things. I thought of him when we visited Hesston Steam Museum and just about anywhere else we found trains. May God's perpetual light shine upon him.

Gene was a coworker for 20 years and a beloved friend for over 30 years. His work ethic was exceptional, and he was willing to step in and help when needed; even if the task was not part of his job duties. When Gene's purchasing tasks where transferred to me, he was always letting me know when shop supplies were low and needed to be reordered. He could have easily said "it is your job now" and walk away but chose to help me. When walking became difficult, he purchased a golf cart so he could continue working at the mfg plant. Gene had a deep love for animals. I was allowed to keep a stray cat as an office cat. Gracie would sit on my lap until Gene walked into the office. She would always leap off my lap and jump onto his desk. In her heart, she was Gene's cat. When circumstances changed, Gene adopted Gracie and she still lives with Gene and Fran. I was extremely blessed to have Gene as a friend. He will be deeply missed.
