Welcome to the Starks & Menchinger Chapel in St. Joseph. Our family will care for you with the deepest respect, concern and compassion. This is the largest funeral home in Southwest Michigan. It gives you the visitation and funeral space you need to honor your loved one. We can configure the chapel to comfortably host up to 300 people or we can divide it into as many as five smaller, private gathering spaces to accommodate your and other families’ needs at once. 

Our facility is ADA accessible so everyone feels welcome. It is also one of the newest funeral homes in Southwest Michigan, and we carefully designed it to be ecologically responsible as well.

This chapel features many special amenities. It has a private family lounge with a small kitchen where your family can find respite, share food and beverages or talk. A separate children’s room has games, a television and DVD player for their use. We also have a large community room where you can bring or cater your funeral luncheon or reception. This room seats 125 people, and you may reserve it for other events such as a wedding reception, graduation party, showers or meetings.
