Grandma's earthly life ended, but her memory in me, in all of us, will never die. I was blessed to spend more time with her than most, especially during the past 10 years. Those moments were a gift, as long as they live on, in everyone she knew. Grandma and grandpa had such a huge impact on my life. We did so much together. I learned to golf, fish, camp/glamp and play games because they always had time for me. In later years, the discussions we had were remarkable. Grandma was sharp. Her memory was great and her interests in reading, soduku and watching movies on TCM held on until the near end. Having discussions about her youth in Chicago, her parents, her brother and sisters, being a mother were unknown to me until the past few years. But her memories remained strong. In 2021, we went to Chicago to find her old high school, Lakeview, her elementary and junior high, which are now gone, some movie houses and the street where she grew up. We took photos and showed her. It was a special memory for us. If I am certain of anyone I have ever met who is now in heaven, it's certainly her. I knew to plan my Whitcomb visits around the time when the pastor from Trinity would have monthly service and communion. I also knew not to interrupt book club. We now feel a loss, because grandma left earth. But I know, she is not sad about leaving. Her advice and guidance was like a candle, calm, quiet and peaceful. But for a candle to do its job, it must eventually burn out.

Our weekends spent in Michigan were some of my favorites. Swimming in the pool, creating plays in the basement and sledding down the dunes are just some of the highlights. Aunt Shirley always made us feel welcome and I loved her spaghetti sauce. I will miss Aunt Shirley very much and I am grateful to have so many special memories of her. Sending ❤️ from MN! -Dawn

Grandma gave myself and my family so many great memories. She was such a loving, caring, and very intelligent individual all the way to the end. I will never forget the times spent with her and Grandpa whether down in Florida at their Trailer near Disney World when my sister and I were very young, or the adventures we had up in Michigan. She taught me many things; especially my love for puzzles and scrabble. I am grateful that Grace and Codie were able to meet her for a good amount of time in their life. She will be greatly missed, but we know she lived a fantastic life. We love you Grandma (GG).

Grandma was always such a fun-loving and active person. I have so many great memories of spending time with her, whether we were out and about in Sandy Pines on the pontoon, getting ice cream at the snack shack, or just hanging out at their home in Bridgeman. She was always game for anything (I totally was never caught by her cheating at scrabble). I know she loved spending time with her family; one of my favorite memories is when we visited Sandy Pines. We would go mini golfing, and Grandma always let us win (even though we knew she was probably better than us!). Just being with her and having those little moments together meant the world to me. Grandma was also an avid book lover and Scrabble player. I remember many nights spent at their house in Bridgeman, where we would play Scrabble until well into the night. She wasn't super competitive, but she knew just about every word in the scrabble dictionary because of her love of reading. And no matter how often she beat us (which was often), we always had a blast playing with her. Grandma was such an amazing person, and I feel so lucky to have had her as my grandmother. ❤️ Love Jeff & Melissa Keeven ❤️

Linda and Jim, my deepest sympathy. I was not fortunate to have known your Mother, Linda. She sounds as if she was a wonderful lady. I will keep both of you in my prayers and thoughts.

My favorite memories of my Grandma are the ones from when my family would visit her and my Grandpa, in Michigan. Whether it was in Sandy Pines, where we would get treated to mini golf, or just riding around on a golf cart looking for soft serve or slushies; or visiting their home in Bridgeman, where Grandma always played Scrabble with us or finishing up one of her 500 or 1000 piece puzzles that she'd been working on, much to her dismay. I will always remember my Grandma as a loving, incredibly smart, and avid book lover, and whether she knew it or not, for her Bob Newhart - like sense of humor. We will miss you dearly, but I hope you're at peace with Grandpa and all of your siblings. All our love, Kylee, Tien, and Paige Pham
