Shirley was born July 23, 1926 in Chicago to Andrew & Anna (Kirkeberg) Anderson. Her family moved to Michigan and Shirley graduated from New Buffalo High School, Class of 1944. On January 26, 1946, she married Lester Krumrie at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Bridgman. Shirley dedicated her life to caring for her husband and her family, raising five children. While living in Bridgman, she was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Lester served as Mayor of Bridgman for a number of years and also worked as a building contractor. Shirley enjoyed helping him with some of his building projects. She volunteered by helping with the Bridgman Blossom Queen Contest and the Bridgman float for the Grand Floral Parade. Later in life, she attended Lake Michigan College to further her education. In her free time, Shirley enjoyed sewing, reading, decorating and completing crossword puzzles. After moving to Whitcomb Towers in St. Joseph, Shirley joined Trinity Lutheran Church. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Shirley is survived by her five children-Linda (James) Jeschke and David Krumrie of St. Joseph, Reed (Carrie) Krumrie of Cartersville, GA, Debra (Joseph) Pascarella of Holmes Beach, FL, Karen (Thomas) Keeven of San Diego, CA; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded by her parents, her husband Lester on April 20, 2007, and by three siblings-Ellen Hoffman, Marilyn Berget & Roger Anderson.
