Please accept my deepest sympathy in your great loss of Greg’s passing. Though I hadn’t seen Greg since our high school days I hold warm memories of him as a classmate and fellow athlete. He was easy to be around and owned a great smile and was a committed teammate. Though his great success in business speaks for itself, i’m sure his legacies as a Husband, Father, Sibling, Mentor, and Friend will carry the true weight of his life! Mrs. Hanson, Debbie and Jay, Gail, and Scott, embrace and celebrate the wonderful memories of Greg’s life and smile. Greg Rodewald, class of 70’

Connie, Justin & Nick, our whole family was saddened and shocked to hear of Greg's passing. Though it has been years since we all spent time together, they have never lessened the cherished memories of the occasions spent with your family. There was never a moment in the memories of Greg that I don't see a smiling face and cheerful joking. No matter whether on the golf course, or vacationing with him in the Bahamas when he had the hotel ring me a wakeup call at 4 a.m. after our late night partying, he always instilled happiness and fun times. I will cherish my shared moments forever with this honest, kind, generous and playful soul. May we get to share a cart in the sky again my friend.

I spoke to Greg at Merlin's memorial and told him I could not begin to express how much I appreciated the opportunities he and the Hanson family of businesses presented to me in 18 years working with and for them, fostering my personal and professional development in so many ways, and securing a rewarding, meaningful means to support my family. I fondly remember many meetings, greg-isms, stories and shared laughs. I consider him a mentor and role model. He lives on in those who knew him and were blessed with his time and thoughts. I am one of those people. Best wishes for peace and healing for Connie, his sons, and the extended Hanson family.

Dear Connie, Justin and Nick, Rishi, Kabir and I were all shocked to hear about Greg's passing. We had no idea that he was not in good health. You guys were the absolutely best neighbors one could ask for. Rekha and I always enjoyed our chit chats in our front yards. I am glad we met on my last trip to St. Joseph. May God give you guys the strength to bear his untimely demise. Rest in peace, Greg. We all miss you.

So sad to hear of Greg's passing. We knew each other as friends from high school. He added so much to the good times of our class of '70. I remember him as kind and funny, and a wonderful, determined athlete. No surprise he became an avid golfer! My condolences to all his family.

Connie, Justin, Nick and family. We are so saddened by the loss of Greg. What a wonderful legacy he leaves for all those who knew him and for his and your family's generosity to our community. He had many wonderful attributes, but we always came away from an encounter with Greg feeling happy. He just had a way that made you feel that way. He will be truly missed. Our prayers are with him and your entire family at this difficult time. May the Lord bless you and strengthen you.

I knew Greg from our high school days at Lakeshore, our Class of 70 'family'. We lived in the same subdivision then, too, and I remember spontaneous get togethers with friends from school at his house. But the first image that comes to mind when I think of Greg is him laughing about something. He was always so good-natured and fun-loving, and just a joy to be around. I suspect he is probably chuckling right now . . . about something. And Gail and Debbie - I am so saddened for the loss of your dear brother. Vickie Nitz

I’m truly sad to hear of Greg’s passing. In the mid 90’s Greg Hanson gave me a job. Little did I know that Greg would have a profound impact on my life. As a young man, I needed people to be a positive role model for me after losing my father and brother years earlier. The lessons I've learned from Greg have shaped who I am today. Greg taught me to stand up straight, tuck my shirt in and be professional. He taught me the value of kindness, the importance of generosity, and the impactful role of good leadership and hard work. These are not just principles for me, they are the foundation upon which my life is built. I am truly grateful for the impact Greg and Scott had on my life! As I remember Greg today, I not only mourn his passing but also celebrate his remarkable life. Let us honor his legacy by embodying the virtues he held dear – kindness, generosity, and leadership. In doing so, we ensure that his spirit continues to live on, inspiring and guiding us as it did during his life. God Bless Greg and the Hanson family!

I had the pleasure of serving with Greg on the Weldun boards many years ago and watching him grow and mature as an adult and as a business leader. Merlin loved him and all his siblings and wanted to see Greg grow and flourish, which is tough behind a very successful and outgoing father. Family businesses are challenging, and Greg navigated it well over time. I loved his positive attitude, his willingness to learn, and his sense of responsibility, AND his sense of humor. I also admired his love of Connie and their children. There was a smile in his voice and his eyes whenever he spoke of them. Needless to say, I was shocked by his death and were we not dealing with my mother-in-law's death this past week and her burial this coming Tuesday, I would be there Monday to honor Greg, to hug Connie and share a tear or two, and to thank all Hanson family for its legacy of commitment to the region. Greg was my older brother. We played a lot of golf together and took several golf trips together as well. It seems a little strange to write this on his public tribute page, but I needed to do it. He had my back in personally situations, but more importantly in our businesses (my two sisters as well). Sometimes family businesses are extremely difficult to operate. Knowing I had Greg in meetings with me that had my back is something I will never be able to thank him enough for. I will miss him tremendously! Love you Gregg! Your little brother forever!!
