Ann, Gerald, and Janice, my sincere condolences on the passing of your beautiful mother. What a wonderful woman! My parents enjoyed such a long and respectful association with them as they both farmed in Covert and raised kids who were friends. In my dad's widowhood, cards in her beautiful penmanship greeted him at Christmastime. I am sorry any of us get old and our bodies wear out. She did well, making a beautiful life. Thinking of you Sarno lovingly, Laura Rood Kao

To The Family of Elda Sarno, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Elda. I didn't know her well, however when visiting with Jerry concerning environmental sample collections for Palisades, Elda was always a gracious host and very pleasant to converse with. The last time I saw her was during Jerry's funeral viewing. May the Lord comfort you during this time of loss. Sincerely, Marc Moore, Custer, SD

Dear Elda Sarno Family Members. I send my sincer sympathy, love, and prayers as you celebrate the wonderful life that your Mom, Grandma, Aunt lived. She was such a wonderful faith-filled woman who was devout to her Catholic faith. She has earned her eternal reward!! I have such wonderful memories of all the fun times on the Sarno farm back during our childhood. Sleepovers with my best friend Janice, working in the fruit stand, eating lots and lots and lots of delicious food that she always loved to prepare for us. Please know that I will be with you in spirit and prayer on Wednesday at her celebration of life funeral mass. I smile thinking of her up in heaven with all those that loved her so much, including my parents! xoxoxoxoxo

Aunt Elda always made us feel special and loved with her warm smile, laugh, and (if we were lucky) ice cream and peaches. The entire Sarno family is more connected due to Elda and Jerry and the gatherings they hosted - reunions, pepper fries, and weekend visits under the grape arbor. Our parents, Bob and Anne, held Elda in the highest regard for her commitment to Jerry, her family, church and community. We all benefitted from her example and will love and miss her always.

To the family & friends, I send my deepest condolences ?! Remembering all the great things Elda did for so many in Covert, Lake Michigan Catholic School, Covert Lions Club, Covert Fire Department, her family & friends is beyond anyone’s expectations. She loved cooking & organizing. I remember helping her in her kitchen making her delicious (special recipe) spaghetti sauce for a Lions fundraiser Spaghetti Dinner. We had fun that day. Hard working lady with a big heart! May you RIP dear lady! You will be greatly missed! Say HI to Jerry for me!
