My son Dustin and I kept our sailboat next to Dave's beautiful (meticulously cared for) sailboat. We always enjoyed dockside visits, and sharing sailing stories. He was so proud to give me an interesting tour of the Fetzer Foundation and to share the work that he was involved with. I have not seen him in years, but have fond memories of him and know the water and his time sailing was an important part of his life. Condolences to all of his family.

My sincere condolences to Dave's family. I have been blessed by his friendship. I have known David since his time at the Fetzer Institute. We at first came to know each other professionally as architect and client but soon became good friends. I cherished his wisdom, knowledge and humor. Dave was always there for others. On the Friday prior to his passing I emailed him some news of my situation not knowing how dire his was. All he could do was focus on supporting me, minimizing his situation. He was a beautiful human being and his spirit I will miss.

I was so sad to hear of David's passing We shared many good times together and he will be missed by everyone who knew him. We spent many weekends sailing and tonight I will hoist a cold beer in his honor. My deepest sympathy for his family.
