David's Obituary
David Robert Miller, 66, of Metamora, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020 after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was born May, 19, 1954 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
David graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Western Michigan University, where he also served as an instructor. After graduating, he became Director of Administration for the Fetzer Foundation for several years. Following Fetzer, David was hired by the Mott Foundation to serve as their Senior Operations Executive. David’s most recent position was with the Ford Foundation as Chief Projects Manager. He just recently had retired.
David loved all things involving sailing and even built his own sailboat which he enjoyed for many years. He also enjoyed traveling and visited many places such as Costa Rica, Belize, and Fiji to name a few. He liked to collect art from every destination.
David is survived by his brother, Charles Miller of Watervliet, MI and sister, Susan (Jon) Getman of South Haven, MI; a nephew, Evan (Kara) Getman , of South Haven, MI; nieces, Ashley Getman of Grand Rapids, MI and Holly Mulligan of Lansing, MI, and great Niece, Ava Getman of South Haven, MI.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Erle and Maryesther (Brandt) Miller and his brother, Daniel Miller.
Private family services were held.
