Our family knew the Durrens from St. Paul’s, and Gene and my dad both worked at Whirlpool. I was very sorry to see Paula’s post on Facebook earlier today indicating that Amy passed. My best to all the family.

Amy accompanied our daughter Jill on a pilgrimage to Salisbury, England in 2009. Her quiet faith and belief in God’s grace was an important foundation for us. Amy had a smile that was joyful and infectious. I’m thankful for her life.

Amy was one of my best friends in high school. I knew her through St. Pauls Episcopal Church where we attended services, sang in the choir and went to youth group events. Our fathers worked together and we attended many Sears/Whirlpool events. We spent many hours together after school and on weekends riding bikes, playing dolls, watching television and just doing what girls do. We had so many laughs together with friends and family. Amy was one of my bridesmaids in my wedding that took place in Florida. Amy, I have missed you so much. Now you are watching over us all.
