Amy's Obituary

Amy Gene Durren, 67, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Spectrum Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. The family will receive guests from 10am until time of Celebration of Life Service at 11am, Monday, August 16, 2021 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. At the request of the family, masks are required. A memorial celebration and interment will occur at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, St. Joseph or the Logan Learning Center, www.logancenter.org. Those wishing to leave an online condolence for the family may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Amy was born June 13, 1954 in Fremont, OH to Gene and Joan (Meisterheim) Durren. A graduate from Andrews University, Amy dedicated her life to the betterment of children through teaching. She was proud of the work she did within her church community, especially nurturing the word of God to the younger generations. Amy was a crafter extraordinaire. Whether it was sewing, quilting or knitting; sharing her creations with her loved ones and the rest of the world filled her heart with joy. Amy will be missed by her children, Rachel (Michael) Klotz, and Jeremy (Celeste) Durren; her grandchildren, Kayla, Leslie, and Everett; her brothers, Michael (Rev. Paula) Durren, and Steven (Janet) Durren, her nieces and nephews, Jennifer (John) Francis, Sarah (Jason) Paturalski, and Zachary (Jennifer) Durren; and her uncles, Richard Meisterheim, and Jon (Janie) Durren. She is preceded in death by her parents.
