It broke my heart to hear of Carrie's passing; it seems impossible someone so young and vibrant could be gone. My family always looked forward to having Carrie as our server at The Bistro. She was so upbeat and pleasant and truly took care of us while we were in her presence. My mom- Lupe Hopp - was especially fond of her, and Carrie was always able to put a big smile on her face which meant a lot to me as my mom was going through her own cancer battle. My condolences to your family and I hope it may give you some peace knowing that your daughter made a positive impact on many others in this world!

I was saddened to hear of Carrie's passing. I went to high school and graduated with Carrie. We were on the swim team together, I was a diver. We were pretty close for a couple years hanging out and having fun together. I went to visit her several times when she went to Michigan State. We lost touch and made our own lives, but I will not forget the fun times we had together. Condolences to the family.

I am so sorry to hear about Carrie. My condolences to the entire family. I met Carrie at MSU where we played waterpolo together and became good friends. She had the best sense of humor and was always up for an adventure. One summer, we attended a Grateful Dead show at The Palace with a group of friends where we danced in the rain, in the parking lot, before the show. Of course, she had a big smile on her face. That’s how I’ll always remember Carrie, the girl dancing in the rain. Rest in peace dear friend.❤️

when I was much younger, carrie would let me do lemonade stands in front of her house in the summer, and every time she would put a $20 in the jar so I thought I was making much more. one time she laughed at me for putting 25 cents on the sign and she came up and put a 1. in front of the 25 because “our lemonade is top notch”. She also used to let me wear her puppy slippers every time I came over because I just loved them. She was an amazing soul and had an amazing heart❤️

Carrie will always be that little sparkle in our lives. We think about her from little tot on through adulthood as always with her darling smile and her cheery disposition. She made everyone feel good for having been around her (and her pets.) I was especially lucky to have had Carrie as a delightful student in class. She brightened every day for all of us. We send our love and our deepest sympathy for this shared loss to Tom, Debbie, Jennifer, and her entire family.

Carrie was a bright spot filled with joy and genuine caring for those around her. We sat at her “table” many times at the Bistro and at Ryebelles and enjoyed her sunny and welcoming spirit. She will be missed and was a special gift to our St. Joseph residents. Sharon and Don Gillespie
