Frank and Bock family,
Karen will be dearly missed by many of us she left behind. I praise with you that she is home with she Lord and Savior. Your family has blessed us with Dinner (at Eldorado in your sneaky way) friendship and your wonderful adult children Austin and Jenny. Austin your memoirs of the person Mom was. Was beautiful and so right on point she loved you kids so much. Jenny your interaction with kids is from your Mom.
Frank the love you and Karen had for each other was an image of Christ love for us. I'm sure you had ups and downs but to outsider it was the love for each other, your kids, and those grandkids of yours we seen. I will pray for you often. Hard days will come because for your love for her. Then joy will follow for you know where she is.
God Please Bless the Bock Family. Tear will come but God you hear our cries.

Frank and Family, I want you to know that I attended Karen's funeral service at The Chapel---what a beautiful venue to worship God. I truly enjoyed the service for Karen and your family---I am so glad to know that Karen was a true "born-again" believer. Your son did an excellent job up there at the podium speaking about Karen and your/his family. Also, your Pastor Phil did an outstanding job presenting the Gospel and salvation plan of Jesus Christ as he used Karen's testimony to dovetail it all within his message/presentation. He did this all right down to the moment of giving anyone (whosoever will) the opportunity to accept the Lord Jesus into their life. I was very impressed. It is extremely rare to hear the Gospel of the Lord, His salvation plan, and invitation at a funeral service as it makes it much more easier when the person who passed into eternity was a "born-again/saved" believer in Jesus Christ such as Karen, and the family. Anyway, I am praying for you and your family during this difficult time, but at least you KNOW that Karen is with the Lord in all His glory in heaven----as you know there is no better place. God bless you, and comfort you during your time of grief and the peace of God encamp around you and your family, brother. Romans 8:28

My memories of Karen in high school are how beautiful she was, always smiling, always kind to everyone. So sad to hear of her passing. I feel lucky I got to see her at a gathering of women from Class of '77 in the summer of 2019. She was still the same humble, loving girl I remember from school. Frank, my heart goes out to you and your family.

It may seem odd to write about someone you only talked to a couple of times but I was so impressed by Karen. When my family was looking for another dog, my friend, Kathy, told me about a dog one of her really nice customer was trying to find a home for. Kathy used to groom Karen's dog, Murphy.
Anyways, I did not realize there was a story behind how Karen ended up with the dog she called Charlie. After shopping one day Karen saw a puppy who was stuck to a tree. The puppy had gotten the rope around his neck sort of wrapped around the tree. To top it off, there was no water in his dish. Karen talked to this couple about the dog. They admitted their neighbor had moved and abandoned the dog. They said they were going to keep the dog. I'm not sure how much time passed before Karen checked on the puppy and found him in the exact same position, stuck to the tree and no water. It was hot out, too.
Karen decided then and there the dog might not live if left with these jerks. As she was leaving with Charlie, the lady called out,"But my boyfriend wants the dog." Karen said to the effect, "Then, why don't you let the puppy go into your house?"
I know some people might think Karen should have just called the police or an animal control or something like that. Yes, then the people that were treating the dog bad and the original owner could have been punished. Also, Karen could have been hurt by these jerks. You know what, Charlie might not have lived. He could have died from a heat stroke, etc,. if she had not taken him then and there.
While my family ended up getting a little adult beagle and not Charlie, I still heard about him. Karen, through Kathy, send me a picture of Chalie as an adult. He looked really happy with this other dog in his new home. I don't know if the other family kept his name, Charlie, or not.
A couple funny things I'll mention. One, is, Charlie ended up being quite big. We already had a big dog that was part pitbull but unusually shy with people. The little beagle we got became the alpha dog. But our pitbull- mix just loved her and loved being near her all day long. So, everything worked out for everyone.
The thing is, Karen had a lot of love for dogs. She, also, had a lot of guts! What a neat person. Mary Helm

Dear Franz, Jennifer and Austin, and the rest of the family -
What a shock to hear of Karen's passing. So many good memories that go back many, many years. She was always had that beautiful smile and was always kind and energetic. When I was hospitalized in 2005 for 18 days, she always stopped to see how I was doing and if she could get anything for me. That was her nature. I grieve your loss because by living, she made the world a better place.
God bless you in your time of sorrw.... May you feel the loving arms of our Savior comforting you....Eternal rest grant unto Karen Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.
