Joni, Jim, and Lori, I'm so deeply sorry for your great loss. Each one of you VanVoorst siblings made such an enormously positive impact on my life through all our fun times at DBC. What I especially remember about Mike was his smile. His smile was so kind and caring. I remember he loved to play ball, too. My deepest sympathy and condolences to you all. Love and care from Carmen Mckimmy

I just remember what a caring, gentle, kind and Christian man he was. My time at Bergen elementary was great because of Mike. I will miss him.

Mike has definitely heard those precious words "Well done, good and faithful servant." Our hearts hurt for the earthly struggles endured, but REJOICE in knowing Mike is whole and singing praises to his Lord and Savior!

Michael was the such a wonderful person. He was so very kind and helpful!
I know that he was a God loving man who always looked for the good in everything and everyone.
I ran into him at the Secretary of State office and we both had plenty of time. It truly was a joy to reminisce of the time we worked at school. We laughed a little and in saying goodbye, tears were in my eyes. He is now home and well, I am so very sure of this.
With deepest Sympathy,
Char Gearing
