When I think of Warrene, I smile over her watching good ole black and white westerns at a really high volume(!) while I vacuumed around her chair and making her do leg exercise as I moved her footstool! She loved having a surprise visit especially if it involved a dinner of bolegnese spaghetti -- after all, who doesn't like spaghetti!! I was able to spend some evenings with her that were very delightful as we binged on b/white movies, popcorn and talking about her younger days. She had wonderful memories of her husband who built the house they lived in and her two children that were very loved. Her smile and cute giggle will be greatly missed??

I had the privilege of meeting Warrene, the lovely Miss Dowagiac of 1940 when I also attended the Pageant's 75th Anniversary celebration in Feb. 2014, as a former Miss Dowagiac of 1965. She was a gracious and lovely lady who lived, loved and raised her family in Dowagiac which was a fitting tribute to our shared "Grand Old City". I wish Andrea and her extended family sympathy 'seasoned' with the joy of sweet memories to bring a smile to your heart during this time of farewell, from Christine Pond Northrup.
