Please accept my condolences. May "the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God. For just as the sufferings for the Christ abound in us, so the comfort we receive through the Christ also abounds.

Robert Brown was a good man and he will be missed by everyone who knew him. I certainly appreciated the long and loving friendship and union that he shared with my mother, and over the years Robert and I grew to be friends. Before that, he was also a good friend to my father, and so in these various ways I’ve known Robert for as long as I can remember. I had initially planned to attend his memorial service at the lake Tuesday. However after considering Robert’s clearly expressed wishes that there NOT be memorial service, I’ve decided to honor him by not attending, and I have encouraged my mother to do the same.
Robert was a good a decent fellow who lived a full life, and he passed into the next phase of existence very quickly. We should all be so lucky and free from suffering. I once introduced Robert to someone as “My Dad” and didn’t think much of it at the time. Only later did I learn that he liked that very much, which I consider to be a big compliment. I wish I had spent more time with him while the opportunity still existed. Robert always wanted the people around him to be happy, and he offered his advice, his counsel, and his considerable humor freely. I’m very sorry that’s he’s gone now.

46 years together, best described by Toby Keith's song: "I will still see you when I sleep; there is a picture I will keep; me, with my hair in the wind and you with that crazy grin, under summer skies when dreams were too young to die. We were a rock, ready to roll; we had a fire deep in our souls and oh, how those nights went flowing like wine when I was all yours and you were all mine......" Unknown forces claimed your fibers and carried you away.,,,,,,,,,,BB
