To a loving family,
My prayer is that the love showered upon you growing up by your mother still prevails as you are adults. May all the learning and warm and fun memories you have of your mom surround and comfort you at this time. God's blessings. Shirley Swift [Howe].

What a legacy Nellie leaves behind! She raised successful children and she taught Decatur’s children and mentored them both in the classroom and as they worked for her on the farm. In addition, she gave back to the community by serving on the school board for several years. The last few years she was the friendly lady who visited with all at the family fruit and vegetable stand. We will miss Nellie as will most of Decatur.

Prayers to the family. I didn’t have her as a teacher as we loved to Decatur when I was in 6th grade. But Dan was a friend and mentor in high school and Sally was a great biology teacher. Her influence showed through them. So sorry to hear this news.

My thoughts and prayers to your whole family. Your mom was such a strong woman and has touched the lives of many by teaching life lessons that weren't always realized until later in life. I spent a lot of time in the corner of her classroom or sitting by her desk! I always enjoyed seeing her at the farm when I was in town and stopped by to get my strawberries. So sorry I didn't get to see her when I was there this year.

Prayers to her family ?
Mrs. Druskovich was my 2nd grade teacher...I have never forgotten the time she picked a student up by the hair on top of his head...carried him from the drinking fountain all the way back to his desk...then used rope to tie him to his chair!! Yes, this was "back in the day" when teachers were allowed to discipline their students!! This has always been one of my favorite childhood school memories!! She was tiny, but she was mighty!!

Mrs Drushovick was my fourth grade teacher at Marion Davis Elementary in 1983-1984. I have many fond memories from both school and other activities such as strawberry picking. Sending love and good thoughts to the family.

I had the privilege of working with Nellie as a classroom aide for several years. She was a wonderful teacher and a great lady. I learned a lot from her about working with children. My prayers go out to her family.

My Prayers to the whole Druskovich family. She was such a good and helpful friend to my dad, not only during their teaching years, but years before that also. I remember going into dad's classroom, and there would be Mrs. D. or I would have to go to her room to find dad, both working on projects for their "kids."
I remember working for the family in the strawberry fields, packing strawberries--half the town I believe has done that, or bale hay, or pick flowers. Good memories. Again prayers to all.
