The service and dedication of Tom will always be remembered. He served for decades in the Van Buren DHHS Board. His calm and compassionate approach was the constant strength of our board. During my 14 years of service as director I found Tom to be a reliable support and engaged public servant. His feedback and encouragement was a reliable source of support and inspiration. We often talked about many other issues beyond the board's business. He spoke of the great memories from his trips to Alaska. He inspired me to make a reality my dream to drive to Alaska. I thought of him often during that adventure in 2022. I miss his smile and his gentle demeanor. He never lost his cool and was eager to offer constructive feedback. His legacy will remain with the Van Buren DHHS family for a long time. Rest in peace brother. May the Lord's comfort and peace be with the family

A lovely tribute to remember a beautiful man! I worked with Tom and Sue at the Open Door Ministry where we quickly became friends. They were both so passionate about their calling and it was my pleasure to work alongside them!

I worked with Tom many years at GTE. His smile and sense of humor kept us all going especially on tense days. He was a wonderful man, who loved his family and the UP! My life was enriched by knowing him. I’m sorry for your loss.
