Shawn's Obituary

Shawn Dean Hisle died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 53 on September 16, 2024 in St. Joseph, Michigan. He loved God and his family.

Shawn was born on August 10, 1971 in Connersville, Indiana to Eunice Ann Warner and Sherell Dean Hisle. He attended Mooseheart School in Mooseheart, Illinois and then Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana (Class of ‘94).

He married Marsha Kay (Ludlow) in 1995 and they have three daughters Megan Emily, Rebekah Lynn, and Andrea Grace. He is survived by eight brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Christine, Loretta (Don), Verna (Mark), Amylyn (Jon), and Domonic. Shawn is also survived by eight siblings: Buddy, Patrick-Shane, Stanley, Kim, Cathy, Amanda, Crystal, and Johnny.

Shawn was on faculty at Lake Michigan College, teaching computer information systems for the last several years. Prior to that, he worked in banking information technology.

He enjoyed being with his family, volunteering at church, and helping friends/family with technology issues. In his free time, Shawn could be found fishing on Lake Michigan, spending a weekend at Warner Camp, watching science fiction movies, and preparing a variety of meats.

Shawn was a loving husband, father, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He had a witty sense of humor and an ability to make friends quickly. His family/friends have lifelong memories with him, including the personalized jokes and messages he would share. He was a lifelong learner, a strong provider, and a man of faith.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at First Church of God (2627 Niles Ave, St Joseph, MI 49085) on October 4, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. followed by appetizers and desserts. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Warner Memorial Camp (60 55th St. Grand Junction, MI 49056) in Shawn’s name.
