My heart goes out to each member of the Kniola family as well as their community of friends and acquaintances. At the same time my mind is flooded with so many special memories. Sherry, or as I affectionately referred to her, Mrs. Kniola, was my kindergarten teacher and deserves much credit for starting myself, as well as so many others, on a path that would make us into who we are today. I absolutely remember with fondness learning about the weather, crying wolf, and countless other super useful items as my class sat 'Indian-style' (sorry, it was the 70's) in a circle in her class. I also had the good fortune of being roughly the same age as Kathy, so I went to school and worked with some of the Kniolas. I can attest that Mrs. (and Mr.) Kniola were successful professionally as well as personally. The Kniola family is a kind, caring, thoughtful, and fun group. Each time I ran into the Mr. and Mrs., they treated me with such kindness, even after not speaking with them for decades as my journey took me away from Stevensville. Sherry remembered my name and each of my siblings by name, even after 25+ years without contact! I could pick any number of memories to share, but one of my favorites was also my most recent. This past winter, I bumped into Sherry and Denny having a meal and per usual they happily engaged me in conversation. I hadn't realized (or didn't remember 😆) that Mrs. Kniola had gone to WMU, my alma mater as well. We both broke out into song, belting out the Bronco fight song, word for word, in perfect pitch. Well, maybe not perfect pitch, but it was a memory I will cherish forever. Loving thoughts to all who got to share her life.

What a beautiful person to her core! She was always so kind to my family and was good for a big hug whenever we saw her. I'm so sad for your family and all who were touched by her kindness. We will be out of town the weekend of her tribute but we will be thinking about you all and what a blessed life you had with her. Chris and Carrie Adams Family

Sherry had a passion for teaching & a heart for the Lord! Whenever we encountered each other whether it was in church, on the football field or at Bashas…. it was a positive experience with many smiles! We have lost an angel on Earth but gained a star in heaven. She was a very positive person & lots of fun. I considered her a friend & a strong Christian woman! Pam Willis/ Snohomish WA

Sherry is absolutely one of the friendliest people you could ever know. It did not matter what was going on in your life, when you ran into her that smile made everything go away. The early 90’s were magical times in and around Lakeshore High School and Stevensville Michigan, Sherry was one of the special people that made it magical…My condolences to Denny and family and to all her friends…RIP

We love sherry for her wonderful friendship and support during our years at Lakeshore! She was a cheerleader to everyone and always looked for the best in people. Our daughter Ellen had her as a teacher for music in Motion. Praying for Peace and Comfort for the Kniola family.

I worked in Sherry's kindergarten room over 25 years ago. I loved coming in every morning to see her colorful outfits. She was so mean ch fun to work with. I remember her being talking about retiring and that she would need a new wardrobe and not wear her kindergarten clothes. She was so loved and will be greatly missed ♥️
