Rose Marie's Obituary
Rose Marie (Rybarski) Yaw, 80, of Benton Harbor, MI., formerly Buchanan, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Corewell Health, Watervliet.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from noon-1 pm also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Rose Marie’s name may be made to the Buchanan and Coloma Senior Centers. Rose Marie was born on September 15, 1942, to Walter and Violet (Krall) Rybarski in Kalamazoo. She was baptized on October 25, 1942 at Holy Family Church in Decatur. Rose Marie graduated from Decatur High School, class of 1960. On June 8, 1963, she married Kenneth L. Yaw at Holy Family Church, Decatur.
Rose Marie was a homemaker to her family, though later in life she worked at Food Specialties, Key Plastics, Leader Publications and chaperoned at the schools to name a few. She was very active in the community and enjoyed spending time at the Buchanan and Coloma Senior Centers, where she assisted with newsletters and other volunteer work. Rose Marie loved embroidery, bingo, spider solitaire, word searches, baking and garage sales. She had a passion for couponing, refunding, and getting a good deal. Rose Marie also liked collecting items, having collections of tea pots, angels and beanie babies to highlight a few. Most of all she loved her family and cherished time spent with them.
Rose Marie is survived by her daughters, Kim (Carl) Sill and Karol Williams; daughter-in-law, Aurora C. Yaw; granddaughter, Krystal Williams; grandson, Buddy (Heather) Williams; great-grandchildren, Donavan, Kaylana, Tayvion, Matthew, Kamdyn, Zevon, Kalliyan, Kalayah, Kacen and brother, Albert (Paulette) Rybarski. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Violet Rybarski; husband, Kenneth L. Yaw on April 7, 1983 and son, Kenneth M. Yaw.
