Raymond “Monk” Elmore, 53 of Mishawaka, IN passed away Monday, October 10, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, October 14, 2022 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Morris Performing Arts Center, 211 N. Raymond was born December 4, 1968 in Petersburg, VA to Gary & Patricia (Shumate) Elmore. He graduated from Colonial Heights High School in Virginia. He then attended Hampden-Sydney College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. Raymond then received his post baccalaureate certificate of accounting from VCU in 1996. On September 24, 1994 he married Cara Righter in Richmond, VA. Raymond worked for Conn-Selmer, inc., in Elkhart, IN as manager of financial planning and analysis as well as Owner of Elmore Tax & Accounting Solutions. Raymond had a love for sports especially the New York Yankees and the University of Notre Dame where he was an usher for over 11 years. He also enjoyed ushering at the Morris Performing Arts Center in South Bend as well as attending many shows over the years. Most of all he loved his family and supported his children over the years whether it was going to their sporting events or on-stage performances.
Raymond is survived by his wife Cara Elmore; son Will Elmore; daughters Brooke & Hope Elmore; brother Jason (Christy) Elmore; nieces Reese & Kenley Elmore; sister-in-law Erin Lehmann; brother-in-law Scot Righter (Joe Kowalski) and nephews Jason, A.J. and Paul Lehmann. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and sister Dana Elmore.
