Perry's Obituary
Perry Alan Bundy, 73, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at his home in St. Joseph.
The family will receive guests from 6-8pm, Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. A celebration of life service will be held at 2pm, Thursday, August 25, 2022 at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to the New Life Church, 3265 S. Cleveland Ave., St. Joseph, MI 49085 or to the Tim Grisham Ministries, P.O. Box 263, Tipton, IN 46072.
Perry was born October 17, 1948 in Benton Harbor, MI to Elmer Bundy and Sybil (Garrett) Kasischke. He was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School, class of 1967. After high school, he married Vicki Granke on December 22, 1967; he joined the military in September 1967, served with the United States Army in Vietnam from 1968-1969. Honorably discharged in September 1970. After discharge from the service, he worked at Gast Manufacturing in Benton Harbor for 20 years before becoming a sheriff’s deputy for Berrien County where he retired from in 2008. His hobbies included spending time with his family, camping, riding his beloved Harley. Working with veterans, helping where he was needed at New Life Church. And so many more accomplishments, including the construction and dedication of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on the bluff in Saint Joseph. He will be very missed by all that knew him.
Perry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Vicki (Granke) Bundy; his children, Jeffery Bundy and Tonya (Robert) Gonzales; his grandchildren, Justin Bundy, Trevor (Jordan) Bundy, Daniel Gonzales, and Jacob Gonzales; his sisters, Patricia (Richard) Briney and Lyn Whittmann and so many others that were special to him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Julius and Mary Jane Granke; and his brother-in-law, Lee Blaylock.
