We will miss Pat so much at the Benton Harbor Public Library, where she was one of our "regulars" which made her a member of our library family. Always so friendly and gracious, she loved to stamp her own books, and we tried to make sure we had plenty of books for her.

My favorite memories of Auntie Pat are from family vacations to Sister Lakes cottages. When Auntie Pat arrived, everything would be more fun. My cousins and I would ask Auntie Pat for permission to do things because she was almost always a "yes". After dinner, Auntie Pat, Auntie Barbara and my mom would entertain us with stories from their childhood in Benton Harbor. I last saw Auntie Pat at my father's memorial service. I am very grateful she made that long trip to be with us.

In spite of your numerous requests to call you “Pat”, you will always and fondly be “Mrs. Johns” to me. You welcomed me into your home & life since I was 7 years old. I will hold dear the memories of coming over after school with Katy enjoying the lasagna you made, eating all your chips, drinking Mountain Dew & perhaps siphoning off some gin from time to time (sorry & thank you)! You will always have a very special place in my heart, Mrs. Johns!
