Linda 's Memory Wall
We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Linda here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
Fred, the obituary was excellent and reminded me with a smile when you wrote Linda was confident and strong in her beliefs. She certainly did and beliefs we should all strive for. She was always willing to help, an excellent teacher who put her friends, colleagues and customers first. It was also interesting you mention her baking skills, I am pretty sure I have eaten so many of her desserts that I still carry some of that around with me. It is with sorrow I am not able to attend her service in person today as we are celebrating Nicks graduation in Kalamazoo today. Please know my prayers are with Linda and her family.

Dear Fred, All members of the Indian Hills Garden Club share your loss. She was such a delightful lady and so knowledgeable about plants and flowers. She was always our "go to" gal when we didn't recognize a donated plant. I am personally the recipient of some of her Red Hot Poker plants and Crocosmia. They are thriving and will always remind me of her. Kathy Royal, President Indian Hills Garden Club

Sending prayers to the family. I met Linda as her son Kalvin and I dated back in 2016. She was warm and enjoyed sharing her cooking and love of flowers/ gardening with me. As her son Kalvin loved being a peach farmer she taught him many things. Now she is reunited with Kalvin again. May the family be surrounded with peace during this difficult time.

I first met Linda Higbee when she came to work at Whirlpool, and it took almost no time at all for us to become partners-in-crime. On the job she was a focused, experienced, critical thinker, but the "work" Linda was just the tip of the iceberg. Outside of work she lived a vibrant existence of family, food, fun, and a deep love of Michigan and the lake. I have many great memories of "Port Paradise" (the little house next to the North Pier), and of her hospitality and friendship. I am deeply enriched by those memories and experiences. And I was always moved the most by her fierce love for her boys. Knowing that she is reunited with Kalvin is the only thing helping me cope at this time. Rest well, my friend. I look forward to meeting again.

Linda's swimming friends were so badly missed during the last 2 years of her struggle with breast cancer, back fusion, and heart failure. They would gather for coffee from time to time.

On behalf of the Lincoln Township Public Library Board, I extend our condolences to Linda Higbee’s family. Linda was a longtime supporter of LTPL as a member of the Friends of the Library. Her dedication to making the library a welcoming and inspiring place for the community will be missed.
