James C. “da Ghost” Ingraham

December 20th, 1953 - October 18th, 2023

da Ghost's Obituary

James C. Ingraham “ da Ghost” passed from this earth suddenly, but peacefully, at his home in South Haven on October 18, 2023.

He was born December 20, 1953 to Harold and Juanita (Simpson) Ingraham.

He lived, worked and played in the South Haven area his entire life, considering himself a “country boy”. He graduated from South Haven High School in 1972 and retired from Whirlpool Corporation in 2017.

Jim loved life and enjoyed his many adventures to the fullest. Scuba diving, Scouting, camping, kayaking, hiking, cycling and riding motorcycles were just a few of his passions.

He held few regrets and felt that he had a full and meaningful life.

Jim was always eager and willing to help those in need, with a soft spot in his heart of gold for children and animals. He was a blessing to all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Amy; his sons Justin (Jessica) and James Ingraham; granddaughter Grace; grandsons Henrik and Duncan; his mom Juanita Wellever; siblings Deb Dalton, Doug Ingraham and their families.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Harold Ingraham, and step-father, Dave Wellever.

He had many friends and extended family that he deeply cared for, too many to print. (And he was also too cheap to pay for such a long obit?)

He is especially missed by his best friend and family pet, CoCo, who will miss their daily walks at the beach.

An Open House Celebration will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 1:00 – 5:00 P.M. at the American Legion in South Haven. During the celebration Jim’s dear friends will take his remains for his final motorcycle ride. Anyone who wishes to ride along, bring it on! If you’d like to share a favorite memory of Jim at the celebration, please do. He, and his family, would like that very much.

Jim and Amy had previously agreed that any memorial contributions received would be donated to a ministry that is dear to both of them and where their grandson – by heart, Trent Koenig, attends school: GOALS Homeschool, c/o Rachel Klein Tovar, PO Boc 83, Lacota, MI 49063.

Rest in Peace, my love – I’ll see you on the flip side. Amy
