Dear Naomi and family, please know that you have our deepest condolences for the loss of dear friend Henry. While we well understand that nothing we write can possibly comfort you to a great extent, please know that at this tragic time, our thoughts and prayers are with you. We are terribly sorry that, due to illness, we were unable to attend the service. Henry was a great, fun loving guy who always brightened our day and made us smile and laugh with an interesting story, a smile or a good joke. We will miss him dearly.

Amy and family I was so surprised to hear of Henry's passing. He was one of the favorites with the Muncie Kiwanis Club. Henry and I worked together on different projects. He was one of the most personable people I have ever met. I always enjoyed his emails and his stories. Carol and I will have you in our thoughts and prayers.

Amy and sons, I just learned of Henry’s passing and am so saddened to hear of it. Henry and I worked together for many years with the Lutheran Laymen’s League, he in Muncie and I in Tipton. He was such a dedicated Christian man who lived his faith in everything that he did. I will truly miss him not only as a fellow worker with our churches, but also because he was a dear true friend. May you all be comforted knowing that he is with the Lord now and that his faith has made him well.

I am so sorry for your family's loss. I did not know Henry but lived next door to his parent's farm since 1976. His parents were always so proud of their 3 "kids". Sending prayers for Henry's family.

We are very sad that Henry has left this world and pray the angels have escorted him to heaven. Also praying that you find comfort in this and in knowing he was a good husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was a good friend and will be missed. With sympathy, Myra and Doyle

Amy, Ed, Steve, and Sis I’m so sorry to hear of Henry's passing. He was a very special person. Over the years I always enjoyed coming up to Michigan during Christmas to visit family. We would always attend the Christmas Eve service at St. Matthew’s. On a number of those occasions Henry and family would also be in attendance. And one of the highlights for me was being able to visit and catch up with Butch after the service for a while. I will always remember those. Even though we haven’t talked much over the last number of years he will truly be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Henry's passing. He was always such a kind, gentle man and always had a smile on his face and a kind word on his lips. Even from a young age, I remember him at Business World, and he would always make time for this annoying little girl that would pop by his desk unannounced and make her feel so important. Amy, I'm praying for peace and comfort as you grieve. May God hide you in the shadow of His wings and protect you during this tough time.

Sending our love and care for each of you. What a difference Henry made in the lives of all who he knew and befriended. He always shared news of family and was quick to ask of the news of ours. He loved life and loved others with a strong faith in God. May his legacy live on......

Dear Naomi, Eddy, Steve and Families, we were saddened to read the obituary in the Muncie paper. You have been our friends for close to 50 years. We have missed you since you left Indiana and have talked frequently about you and the fun we had together. Henry was such a Spassvogel. We wish Naomi and the family well. We would have come to the service, however, we are not in Indiana at this time. Love, Hilde and Bill

Dear Amy, Ed, Steve and families, my heart is heavy to learn of Henry’s passing. He a dear friend since childhood. He always was so cheerful, energetic and generous. He was the perfect one to lead us as class president because he embraced all of us with a goal of keeping us close, always instrumental in organizing reunions even from a distance. He frequently generously provided momentos such as pens and calendars with Christian phrases which testified to his strong faith. Surely you are comforted by the knowledge he now rests with his Savior. My love and sympathy to you all

Amy, Ed and Steve - we are so sorry to hear of Henry's passing. There are so many stories we could share of his kindness, service to community, service to others and the many, many times he spoke of all of you in such glowing terms. You could always tell he loved his family more than almost anything. We have been honored to be friends for 47 years and will miss him dearly.
