I first got to know Henry in 1962 when I enrolled in agricultural engineering at NDSU. Henry (Mr. Kucera) was a well liked and respected professor who taught us power and machinery and was also a faculty advisor to the student branch of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers. I realize now that he was a very young man then (thirties). After I returned to ND to farm, I would see Henry many times at various learning events. He would also call occasionally to chat or discuss some topic. Twenty some years ago, my wife enrolled at NDSU to get that college degree she always wanted. Low and behold, there was Henry Kucera sitting in on some of the classes she was taking. Never stop learning.

I was so sadden by hearing my dear friend Henry had died. I met Henry when I was a student at Concordia College. We both attended the same church. As the years went on he continued to be connected with me and my family. His dear mother Mary also wrote such beautiful letters to us. Like us he was a strong conservative Republican with a thirst for knowledge all wrapped into a strong faith in God. I loved him and will miss him in my life❤️Kristi Schuppert

Henry was quite a guy. My husband, Gerald Link's family farmed down the road from Henry's family. Henry was also one of Jerry's professors at NDSU when Jerry studied for an agricultural degree. Henry never failed to remember his friends on their birthday and loved connecting often by phone or even in person. You will be missed! Our sympathy to the family of Henry from Jerry & Pat Link.

My sympathies to Henry’s family on your loss of your father. Henry was a good friend of my father and our family, He never failed to reach out on special days or any day, just to connect and let you know he was thinking about you. What a special man he was. He was so good to my father, especially in his final years. You will be greatly missed dear Henry but I know that the heavens are rejoicing that you have come home to join our Lord. God bless all of you.

I send my condolences to Henry's family and lift you up with my prayers. I to was a student of Ag Engineering 63-69 attending a few of Henry's classes During my studies in graduate school, one summer Henry asked me to mow his lawn when he was at guard camp. Since that time Henry and his mother were on my Christmas card list. A few years out of college Henry started calling me on my birthdays and when I turned 60 he actually attending my family party in central Minnesota and stayed the whole day.. Since moving to Minnesota in the mid 70s I have stopped many times at the Department and visited Henry as I was traveling to or from my birth home in Stanley ND. I will miss his birthday calls and my occasional visits in Fargo or on Facebook or calls. Hoping to attend the Memorial Service

Henry was my neighbor in North Fargo. He saw us riding bike many times by his house and stopped us one day to talk to us and took our phone numbers and made us FaceBook friends. He was so sweet to take time to talk with us and he had some really interesting stories to tell. He was a bright spot in our evening bike rides. I looked forward to seeing him and stopping to chat! He was a very special person. My condolences to his family.

Condolences to the family on Henry's passing. I'm another in the long list of students ('61-65) and fellow NDANG members ('65-72) who found Henry challenging and engaging. His continuing interest in each of us made those classes and contacts memorable and constructive. Indeed, his baby blue convertible was the Ag Eng'g trade mark during those years. He was kind enough to share helpful insights as faculty advisor as well as relationship counsellor. He visited us several times in recent years. Always interested in others and thinking about new technologies. I'll miss his phone calls. O Henry!

My sincere condolences to Henry’s family. I know he was very proud of his children, grandchildren, and other family members. Henry was my college professor and advisor when I attended NDSU. I enjoyed his classes. He was a kind and considerate person. I learned a lot from him. I had trouble finding a job when I graduated from NDSU in 1980. Henry arranged for me to interview for a position with his sister and brother-in-law at the business they operated in Chicago. It sounded like a good deal, but I didn’t feel like going that far from home at that time. But I always remembered his kind helpfulness in that situation. We kept in touch over the years. I told him about the different projects I had been working on. He often told me how proud he was of me. I appreciated him so very much. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Henry Kucera. He had contacted me and we talked on the phone a couple times in recent years. My memories of Mr. Kucera were as my ag engineering classes instructor in 1965-67 and then at summer workshops for ag instructors. He was a wonderful teacher. I remember at one of the summer classes a few of us old students visited him and he was so excited to tell us about his new Audi car and he took us for a ride. I have many wonderful memories of being in his classes. A great loss. I was privileged to count my self as one of his students.
