I feel honored and blessed to know this extraordinary woman. At her Memorial Service tributes came from all the organizations and boards she served on; Benton Harbor Area Schools, Calling All Colors, Whirlpool Race Relations, Area Agency on Aging, Delta Sigma Theta, Charms of Benton Harbor and so many more. She was an advocate for the underserved and forgotten. She was a tenacious leader; wise and dignified; regal and down to earth. She was a legend whose voice and roar of laughter will live on and on. I'm so thankful that I knew her and her wonderful family. Thank you, Gladys! You will truly be missed.

Gladys was an amazing neighbor. I always loved to look at her flowers and the gardens that she would always keep up on. It was very special that she allowed my husband and I to have some reception pictures taken in her garden, my mom lives right next to her. She would always say and wave. She is an amazing person and she will be deeply missed. Our prayers go out to the family, thinking about you.
