It was always a pleasure to met Fred and Shirley. I am grateful to God for knowing such sweet people. It was always a joy to have lunch with them and exercise with Shirley at the Senior Center. God bless Fred's family. I love you.

My grandfather knew nothing but kindness. He would help anybody out. He would take homeless people into a restaurant and buy them a meal. My last voicemail on my phone from him was him asking if there's anything he could do for me and telling me he loved me. He had a heart of gold and he was the most intelligent man I have ever met. He knew enough German and Spanish to be dangerous. He could answer any question I asked him about with ease (I asked him a LOT) and he was always patient. When I was little he took me on a "treasure hunt" where he had previously buried treasures for me to dig up around the back yard and told me to look for the signs of treasure. He adored my son and my son adored him. He would read to him often and Oakley would get so excited when he and Grandma would come over. He was a great man and I am so lucky I got to know him. I wish to be as good of a person as he was. I am so grateful he was in my life and he raised my mother and uncle with my grandma, otherwise our lives would have been so different. Because of him and my grandma, my mother was raised to be the wonderful loving woman and mother and grandmother she is. He will be greatly missed. The world has suffered a great loss in his absence, but Heaven has gained so much, an angel has been granted his wings. There aren't enough words in any language to express how much he will be missed by so many. I love you grandpa and you'll always be with me in my heart until we meet again.

Shirley and Kevin...I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Fred. I remember how he always had a smile and a handshake for every one and he had a sense of humor. Hugs to the both of you. My prayer for you is the comfort of God's arms.
