Some people in your life are kind right from the moment you meet them. I met Doug in academy and he remained that kind individual with integrity, always a smile and kind word. It has been an honor, a blessing and privilege to have know Doug and his family.

I did all of the Ottβs HVAC for a long time. Spent many a day with Doug. Such a great guy. I know he didnβt approve of a lot of my lifestyle but he never judged. Was just a friend at work that I had a lot of fun with. We always listened to the Cubs when they were playing. So sorry heβs gone and way too young. Glad he got to see the Cubs win. God bless.

It's unique that despite only knowing Doug from his visits to the local hardware store most mornings, I considered him as a good friend. His way of being was so genuine and it showed through. When he and Randy Dow came in, it was the highlight of our mornings. I'm very sad I never got a chance to say goodbye or tell him how much he meant to us. Rest in peace my very good friend. You are truly gone too soon.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Popp family during this difficult time. Doug will always be remembered as a friend and a good classmate. One of my memories of Doug goes way back to when we were in English class and he would not have his assignments completed..so he would look over my shoulder to see what I had finished and then ask me to help him complete his. This happened quite oftenβ¦.he really appreciated that help especially when he got his English grade! Doug was always respectful and kind to others. He will be missed by his family, friends and classmates.
