Was so sad to hear of David’s passing. I first met David when I was on the Board of Directors for the Samaritan Center and David did bookkeeping work for them. Later, I remember seeing him when he was doing lawn care work, toting a push mower in the back of his station wagon. It was quite the sight to see. But David was always up to something. I was honored to officiate at his marriage to Jaunita, and what a joyous occasion that was. Over the years I was able to visit with both of them at their home in South Haven and even stay with them in Florida. David loved Florida and it was a placed he enjoyed and was proud of. The love and the bond these two shared was precious. Thier care for each other was very special. David was an avid bicyclist. He had a recumbent bike and he would bike into town from his home out in the country for breakfast with a group of us guys from church. Then, he would bike home, sometimes taking the long way home. He would let us know how many 100’s of miles he had biked, and put us all to shame. When he was spending winters in Florida, we would get reports on how far he would ride. All of this was when he was in his 80’s! I went on a few rides with him, he just kept on going. He enjoyed playing cards with Juanita and a group at church. These were lively times and many a story was shared. He was also a lot of fun to rib when he would lose track of something in the game. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He was so proud of his family and his extended family with Juanita. David was a faithful member of the church and I was honored to know him and to have spent so much time with him. His was life well lived. May he enjoy the rest and the peace that is his to know this day. To Juanita, and to his entire family, you are in my prayers. Blessings to each of you. Jeffrey Dick
