We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Charles here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
We’ve been away and just caught up on the Harbor News. I was shocked and saddened to see that Charlie had passed. We are relative newcomers in New Buffalo but going to Barneys and seeing Charlie was already a part of our routine that we looked forward to and made us feel part of the community. Once JoAnn introduced us one day a year ago he always remembered my name, always had a smile and a few minutes to chat. Seeing Charlie always brought a smile to my day. I thank him and I will miss him. My condolences to his family. Test in peace, Charlie — I’m sure you’re already spreading cheer in your new resting place. — Jean Ostvoll

My wife Presbytera Nikki & I were saddened to read of Deacon Charlie's passing away. He was a fine, cherishable man. We were very fond of him, & we'll miss him. May his memory be eternal!

I was so saddened to see the news of Charlie Bugiani show up on David's Instagram. I was shocked. I've been his neighbor for at least 30 years and enjoyed talking to him whenever he worked at Barney's. I am deeply saddened and send my condolences to his family.

Charlie was a fixture at Gold’s Gym first thing in the morning for many years. He should have been on the payroll as he was the best ambassador with his kind gentle manor yet always got in a great workout. My sympathies to his family.

Charlie was my dear cousin. He was the kindest, caring most wonderful person I have ever known. When he moved here to New Buffalo, it didnt take long for him to become a local "celebrity" with so many friends. He was very health oriented & met many people on his regular walking routes and outdoor activities, as well as at his daily visits to David's Deli & The Harbor Grand coffee shop. He touched many lives and I feel very blessed to have had him in mine. Charlie will be greatly missed by so many. May he rest in peace. ❤

I lost touch with Charlie over the years. I first met Charlie when I was 3 or 4 years old. Our families lived in the same apartment building on Chicago’s Southside. Charlie learned how to be a good person from his parents. Uncle Fred and Aunt Lil, along with Grandma Walsh, were 3 of the most wonderful people one could ever be associated with. Charlie and Joyce were blessed with a great family. Charlie was the big brother I never had. He always was a kind and caring person. The world lost a great man with his passing. I look forward to catching up with him in the Kingdom of Our Lord. May God test his soul.

Charlie was a community treasure. We will miss waving to Charlie on his daily walks, chatting at David’s, and laughing with him and JoAnn at Barney’s.

When i would visit my Uncle Charlie in New Buffalo he would take me in town and introduce me to “everyone”. He made me feel like a movie star coming for a visit. He was so proud of his family. Uncle Charlie you were the star and now you are the star that will forever shine brightly in are hearts. I love you ❤️ Pixie

Charlie told the best stories and could fill the better part of an hour just reminiscing while holding court at his private table at David’s Deli. He knew everyone and everyone loved him. I really will miss seeing him.
