Carolyn's Obituary

As heaven rejoiced, Carolyn Louise Zoschke Corteville, 93, of Benton Harbor, Michigan, died peacefully at her home on November 8, 2023, surrounded by family. Born December 4, 1929 in Benton Harbor, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Robert Corteville; her parents, Rev. Lloyd Albert Zoschke and Margaret Elizabeth Hatheway Zoschke; her daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Rose; her sister, Ruth Zoschke DeZwan, and her brother, Milton Hatheway Zoschke.

Carolyn, had a beautiful alto-singing voice given to her by God. She sang in the choir of the First Baptist Church of Benton Harbor. She also held many positions in the American Baptist Women’s Association and her church, New Life, Saint Jospeh, Michigan. She will be missed by many friends in the Berrien County Association of Churches, the Lincoln Township Senior Center, and especially by her quilting friends at the center.

Survivors include, her children, Douglas Floyd (Linda) Corteville of St. Marys, Georgia, Carol Beth (Dan) Frosolone of Benton Harbor, Michigan; Gertrude “Trudi” Louise Roberts of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Christopher Leroy (Andrea) Corteville of North Port, Florida. She was blessed by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; her loving brother, Fred "Lloyd Frederick" (Linda) Zoschke of Coloma, Michigan, along with several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at the Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph, MI 49085, on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 12:00 PM with a luncheon to follow. Visitation will take place from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service will take place at Riverview Cemetery at 2:00 pm. For a more lasting memory, donations in Carolyn’s name can be made out to either the Berrien County Cancer Services or St. Joseph - Lincoln Senior Center.
