To the Seager and Swem families:
I am so sorry to learn of Amy’s passing. I first met her when I was in high school and her sister, Lisa, and I were friends. Later, I gave her baton lessons when she was in middle school. She was always kind, bright, funny and hard working.

Just a few years ago, we reconnected at a wedding and talked for a good while. It was wonderful to catch up, and to hear all about her marriage, family and life since college.

I can only imagine the hurt her loss has left in your hearts. Please know I’ve been thinking of you all and keeping you in my prayers.

There's a whole in the world this day. Always frank, honest and forthright, you always knew her mind and it was always forward and positive. We are all a little better for knowing ger, and a bit worse off for losing her. Peace and prayers to the Swem and Seager families.

Amy was a force, a hurricane, an advocate to grow critical thinkers in schools. She had a passion for students and a knack for growing the staff around her. She understood you grow a passion for learning by tapping into a person’s interests.

There is something poetically different about the time we all spent together in Sturgis. I have always loved Amy and been proud to call her my friend… Rest in peace, Amy, and know your legacy lives on.

Oliver. First time I met Amy. I was in awe at what a beautiful girl she was, and how those around her fed off her positive energy. I remember hoping I could be like her when I got older- always smiling, and so kind to everyone (even us annoying kids). Her spark will be missed.

I met Amy while working in an old sales job through Underground Printing, and we quickly found out that we were both southwest Michigan gals. I was in grad school, recently married, and trying to build a network, and I seriously could not have done it without Amy. She was the kind of person who would stop by in the morning with an Egg McMuffin after getting an email the night before from me telling her something had gone wrong with her order. She didn't blame me, but empathized with how stressed I must have seemed in the email. When I left UGP, she connected me to all kinds of opportunities, and I was fortunate to have her son in class and to stay connected to her through so many different parts of my life.

Amy was a connector. She brought people together. And she brought smiles to people's faces. She was tough as nails and the epitome of positivity.

We'll miss you, Amy. Thank you.

Oh Amy! I’m so grateful for our friendship and time together. I’m struggling to go on without you…I’ve went to call/text you so many times just in this last week. I smile when I picture you sitting with Jesus and singing songs/reading books to all of the little children in Heaven.
You were the best friend and educator I’ve ever known! Fly high and pain free!

Amy and I grew up singing in the church choir together, starting in elementary school. She sang like the angel she now is. While I'm grateful she doesn't have to fight anymore, my heart is broken for her family left to go on without her physical presence. May they find comfort in their memories and see her in the beauty around them and in the legacy she leaves behind. May the thought of just how many people she touched bring a smile to their faces.

To the Seager and Swem families I have known most of my life, I send you my heartfelt condolences and lift you all up in prayer. I was honored to attend the visitation and Amy's celebration of life. I'm sure she is smiling down on you all and sending love.

Oh my heart! There is not enough words that I could ever say to tribute Amy. I am privelaged to say that I was born into knowing this woman and being graced with her spirit before I was ever out of my mothers womb. In fact, Amy taught me how to spell S-T-O-P by spending countless of hours at her house on Harlan with her sweet dog, Besty. Both her and Ric are undeniable some of the kindest humans in the world and very important to people to my mom, dad and step-father. I have a lifetime of memories that will serve as Amy's spirit no matter where she is and I am. Literally, the defintion of sefless, kind, courageous, loving, passionate, zest and authentic would be things I would pin onto Amy and her spirit. There is a song I love by Chantal Kreviazuk that was meant for Amy. Ric, Clay, Caitlin, Garrison and Jacob and the entire Swem/Seager family, my heart is broken along with you but I hope you find these words of comfort and heal.

But if you've seen the love that's in her eyes. Then everything is good. If you know the way she felt inside ,She's flying where she should. I never believed we'd ever live to see an angel being born and flyin' home. It's good to know your laugh and you'll always hold my hand and watch from up in heaven and always understand. We'll take you down the road, and in everything we do
We'll know how much you love us, a soul that's kind and true.

Godspeed, Amy. You are loved beyond measure and thank you for leaving an everlasting imprint and legacy for us still here on Earth. See you again, someday. Fly high and continue to spread your passion, love and joy to us here on Earth.

My Love, My Life, My Best Friend!

I love you so much and miss you more than you know. You taught me so much and made me so much better as a person, an educator, and a man.

It is my fervent prayer that, as you are embraced by our Lord and Savior, you feel the warmth of my love and are aware of how deeply and passionately I love you.

While we suffer our time here on earth, know that when you turn around, at the Gates of Heaven, God-willing, I will be right behind you!

Amy was a key person in my college experience...we shared our first apartment together at WMU. She introduced me to Berrien County and grape vines, provided restful retreats in Buchanan, and tried to show me how to ski. Our roommate experience ended when Amy got married to Ric. I had the privilege of standing up in their wedding. It was a magical winter evening with love and snow in the air. Amy later helped in the planning of my wedding. She and Craig sang at the service. Amy was like a big sister...always looking out for me, giving advice, and sharing resources. A woman of strength and character, Amy inspired many. To Ric and the family, I give my condolences and prayers. May the holy Spirit be your comfort and strength in the days ahead.

I know I don’t need to reiterate what an exceptional and impactful woman she was.

Condolences to the Seager family. The students and staff at Schoolcraft Elementary were lucky to be graced with Amy's knowledge, experience, and care for a portion of her excellent career.

To The Seager & Swem Family, we are so deeply sorry for the loss of Amy. She was such a talented and amazing person with a heart of gold! The light she brought into the world will always remain in the hearts of everyone she knew and loved most. She will never be forgotten and her legacy will live on!

Condolences to the Seager family . If I can think of one virtue that best describes Amy it would be Gravitas.
She loved Family, Motherhood ,Marriage and being a positive force in young peoples lives.

Amy was a true soldier in a battle that could have appeared to have defeated her, yet her Medal of Ĥonor is the sweet spirit she maintained throughout her"war". Many have been blessed by her undying words and help in the world of education.
