I could see Marty after a long absence and pick up right were we left off. He was so easy to talk to. A good listener, supportive, and caring. We had so much fun with he and Jamie. We got to know George and Patty, of course their beautiful children, lots of other friends, and family. Our friendship was truly a gift.

To the family of Marty, I am sorry for your loss. All through elementary and high school he just had a way to make you laugh. He was a great teammate. He was the type of teammate that made you better competing against him in practice. He was a big factor in helping us win a state title in 1982. We would get together at class reunions he would always tell me, "I remember kicking your a@@ in practice, and I would tell him "who was picking their helmet up after the hit" and then he'd say well yea you fat a@@...the whole night he would just crack everyone up with his stories. RIP Marty.

To the McGrath family, I grew up with Marty and have great memories of those times with him. We played on the same teams growing up travelled all over with our families and played against each other when we got older. We rode snowmobiles, bikes and went swimming when we weren’t playing hockey. He was always full of life. I haven’t seen Marty for a long time but those memories I have never faded and I will always remember those times fondly. I hope that the wonderful memories that each of you have will sustain you in this hard time.

So sorry to hear about Marty leaving us much to soon. Marty and I played hockey together as young kids on travel teams and always had a lot of fun. I lost my wife of 10 years to breast cancer in 1995 and you never get over it, but things do get easier in time. Now both my parents passed away within the past two years. May God give you strengths and peace knowing we will see all our loved one again some day. Life here on this earth is short and we have to try our best to pick up the pieces and go on the best we can. May God bless you and your family and cover you with God's forever lasting love!
