Barb...was so sorry to read this today. Buddy was a really cool guy/ I especially remember all he did for South Haven Golf Club, which only increased my admiration and gratitude. God bless you both.

Barb.....I didn’t know your husband Bud, but it sounds like he led a full life. You are in my thoughts and prayers. He is now in a place of peace and light with God. From a fellow SHHS graduate.

So sorry to learn of Bud's passing. I am a ham radio operator in New York and a participant in the SOTA group that hikes to mountain tops to operate portable radios. Bud was an avid "chaser" who helped us earn our points by exchanging messages with us. I've been missing hearing morse code with the familiar callsign W8BUD calling me on the mountaintops. He will be sorely missed by the amateur radio community which extends far beyond Michigan.

Hi, Mike, I know Bud enjoyed being a "chaser", he told me about it often. He was also looking for a place nearby where he could join you guys. He also enjoyed Morse Code. Thank you for your sentiments.

Barbara, Yes, we had discussed his desire to drive north a couple hours along the lake to find a hilltop where he could be chased by others for is 80th! So you know, I have posted news of Bud's passing on some of our ham radio websites, including SOTA and SKCC groups. Please know that sentiments are being expressed from ham radio operators throughout the country and also overseas, including England, Spain and New Zealand!! Bud had many friends in far away places and is being well remembered in the ham radio community.

My wife and I have not personally met Bud as we live in Tennessee, but we contacted him many times on the amateur radio. It was always good to hear Bud's voice or his Morse code when we were miles from everybody on a mountain top, using our portable ham radio. Bud was a regular contact for us and he will be missed.
