Dian was one of my best friends having gone through grade school and high school together. She graduated with the great Class of 1955. We worked together, bowled together and double dated, also cruised the South Haven beaches A LOT. Sincere condolences to Dick, Lisa and sons. RIP Dian - you were a hard worker. I will miss you terribly when it comes U of M football time.

I'm sure some of those fun times were at the "Buddy Cottage" on the north beach in South Haven. She enjoyed entertaining everyone.

Dian was a regular at Clementine's when I worked there many years ago - she was so special to everyone and brought much joy and fun to everyone...the world was more joyful and certainly funnier with her in it...she will be greatly missed. Love to the family at this difficult time... Jill XOXO

It was so nice that Dian was added to our family when Copper and Lisa were married. She could not wait to be a grandma as well as our family. I am sure the rest of the story was her life after the gift of two grandsons Her life changed with all the activities they brought. It was always a fun time when she was around loved being around people she will be missed. Sorry for your loss Cooper Lisa and Boys Love Carol Virgil and Charlene

Dian was a very caring and kind lady. I will cherish memories of riding in her VW bug from Comstock to South Haven early Saturday mornings to spend the day at North Beach and a visit to her dad's, reading a romance novel to pass the time and forgetting about all the rest of the world as we soaked up the sun and cooled off in the cool water of Lake MI. Dian has a special place in my heart as a person who mentored a shy young teen, while proving to be a strong and confident supervisor who often made us all laugh with her quick wit. I was in awe of her organization skills and ability to manage the hectic enrollment and testing process of adult students in one of the largest consortiums for adult learning in southwest MI. She was the right and left arm of our administrator. Mornings demanded a couple pots of Folgers and afternoons we loved our Diet Coke. Dian’s dear friends would find their way to visit and help to prepare the monthly school district newsletter to over 8000 homes. Patti Chmiel, Edith Newkirk, Edna Denaway, Dave Cain, Larry Dopp, Sharon Westafer, Sue Warner, and many others were the people who brought much joy to Dian. But the biggest joy of Dian’s life was her son and family. Dian will be sorely missed. Rest In Peace dear lady!
