Carl R. Filbrandt

Carl R. Filbrandt, 79, passed away peacefully March 9, 2020 at his winter home in Sebring, Florida with his wife, Donna, of 52 years by his side. He was born July 31, 1940 to Carl and Ruth (Hinz) Filbrandt in South Haven. Carl was a lifelong South Haven resident and had been a seasonal resident in Sebring, Florida. Carl graduated from South Haven High School with the Class of 1959. He was a farmer his entire life, growing crops and raising animals.  He loved farm life and continued to work around the farm his whole life. He was also a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades.

Carl is survived by his loving wife – Donna Filbrandt of South Haven; children – Annette (Matthew) Ayotte of South Haven and Cari (Raymond) Copi of South Haven; five grandchildren; a special nephew – Gary Barner and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life and dinner will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, July 31, 2020 at the St. Paul Lutheran School Gym in South Haven, 718 Arbor Court, South Haven, Michigan 49090.   The family will briefly share some memories at 6:00 PM followed by dinner.  Contributions may be made in Carl’s memory to the St. Paul Lutheran School in South Haven, 718 Arbor Court, South Haven, Michigan 49090.
