To Salaam's family.... Willie was a tremendous basketball player. I used to do the Ram games on the radio. He was smooth and deadly with his remarkable shooting. It was a joy to watch. How sad it is that he is gone from us way too soon. But, thanks for the memories! Rest in peace. Barry Shanley

I knew Will only for a very brief time in the late 80s, when he occasionally worshipped at Hope Church.. he had a gentle spirit (perhaps very troubled at the time) I hope we will meet again, when I join the happy throng.

William was a great team mate and friend. On the basketball court, he was amazing. Off the court, he was kind and always smiling. May he truly rest in the peace.

William and I met and became friends in kindergarten. That friendship lasted all through school. He may be gone but he will never be forgotten. Rest in peace Willy.

William an awesome basketball player. Whenever I saw him he had that smile. It was amazing to see him jogging with weights and running almost everyday when he was in town. William will be missed. May God give you comfort and piece.

I will always remember William for many things, but the one that stands out is during a basketball game at South Haven High he was at the top of the key and suddenly threw a beautiful pass through all the defenders with blazing speed,so perfectly to his center for an easy two points that the crowd actually gasp. It was almost like a magic trick that worked perfectly. He was a great athlete and better person. Rest easy Brother.
