Maxine J. Gorenflo, 92, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Caretel Inns St. Joseph. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service for Maxine on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 10AM, at Riverview Cemetery, 2925 Niles Rd., with Pastor Dan Golladay officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Napier Parkview Baptist Church, 245 W. Napier Ave., Benton Harbor, or Caring Circle, 4025 Health Park Ln., St. Joseph. Maxine was born on September 3, 1929, to William & Ollie (Bachar) Gorsuch in Marion, OH. She graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1947. On September 14, 1947, Maxine married Robert Gorenflo at Greenwood United Methodist Church in Marion, OH. In 1960 her family moved from Ohio to Michigan. Maxine devoted her life to raising her children, volunteering at Memorial/Lakeland Hospital for over 40 years and was involved in various ministries at Napier Parkview Baptist Church for over 60 years. Her most cherished time was spent with her family, especially with her grandsons. Maxine is survived by her children Sheila (Armin) Schultz and Bruce (Christine) Gorenflo; grandchildren, Eric (Louise) Gorenflo, Joel Gorenflo and Evan (Hannah) Gorenflo; great-grandchildren, Roxy & Camille; special cousin Jack Shaffer; and many nieces and nephews. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents William & Ollie Gorsuch; husband of 64 years Robert Gorenflo; and brother Paul Gorsuch.
