I has the wonderful opportunity to minister with Father Sears at St, Joseph Parish in Kalamazoo back in the early 1980's/
Geno was a great Priest and Pastor and I learned a great deal about parish ministry from him. My deepest sympathy to his extended family. I am sure that Father Sears has been welcomed home by the choir of angels into the wide waiting arms of the Lord!

My deepest condolences and prayers for the loss of Father Sears. He was a man of a warm heart filled with jokes.

Our family ties go back to his time spent at St. Bernard's Parish. He had such a wonderful way with all people---a true gift to our community. I especially remember trips up around Gaylord when we traversed the AuSable(I think) river in canoes and His mother's rosary beads clicking at night. Good memories Msgr. His friendship will be remembered for years to come. God Speed.

I knew Fr. Sears from St. Bernard's and served on committee there. He was a very wonderful person and friend to all. He definitely will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Father Sears, I know he knew what a light he was in my life. He is so loved through out the Community. His laughter and his gentle way to guide you through anything, you knew it would be ok. I have much love for the wonderful gift the Lord gave me. My years of friendship with Father. He was truly a man of God. When he spoke of Our Lord, he would glow with love and twinkling eyes. Father made all feel he was speaking directly to you. I can see his smile now, as he looks around heaven and walks with God. Please keep watch over me Father .. I still need you to intervene... at times. RIH

My deepest sympathy goes to his family. My husband Smitty worked closely as school director of maintenance at the school system for years and Fr. Sears gave the funeral service for Smitty when he passed away.
