Mark Eldon Spletzer

Mark E. Spletzer, 69, of Stevensville, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021, at his home. A time of gathering will be held on Friday, August 6, from 4 PM until 7 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Southwest Michigan, 5400 S. Niles Rd., St. Joseph, or Caring Circle Hospice, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mark was born on May 28, 1952, in St. Joseph, to Donald H. & Elizabeth (Kasischke) Spletzer. He graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1970 and continued his education by attending American University in San Herman, Puerto Rico and later graduating from Western Michigan University with a Bachelors in Business Management. On July 31, 1976, Mark married the love of his life, Anne Borrelli, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mark enjoyed working in retail, specifically the home improvement; most recently he was a Department Manager for Lowe’s in Benton Harbor. Mark loved being anywhere that the weather was warm. He enjoyed spending time golfing, fishing and relaxing on the beach. He was an avid fan of the Michigan Wolverines, Chicago Cubs and Georgia Bulldogs. What will be missed the most is Mark’s genuine kindness and hardworking spirit to always be there to help, protect, and support his family and friends; he will truly be missed by all who knew him. Mark is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Anne; sister, Paula (Douglas) Nass; uncle, Phil Spletzer; cousins, Dena Spletzer-Miller and Kirk Spletzer; mother-in-law, Joan Borrelli Stewart; sisters-in-law, Tina (Ernie) Wake, Lisa Borrelli, Kay (Pete) Frosolone, Amy (Sam) Schaus, Emily Borrelli Self, & Angela Borrelli; brother, Karl Spletzer; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald & Elizabeth (Kasischke); sister, Kimberly Spletzer; aunt, Joyce Spletzer; and brother-in-law, Charlie Borrelli.
