Douglas G. Sempert

Douglas Gregory Sempert, 71, of St. Joseph, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021, at Spectrum Health – Lakeland, St. Joseph. A celebration of life service will be held at 6 pm on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Visitation will take place one hour prior from 5-6 pm. A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Friday, June 18, in Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph with military honors rendered by the Stevensville American Legion, Post 568. Doug was born on September 1, 1949 in St. Joseph. He attended St. Joseph High School. Doug served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Stevensville American Legion, Post 568. Doug enjoyed being outdoors and especially loved archery. Doug is survived by his sister, Bekki (Steve) Lund of St. Joseph; nieces, Sarah and Megan Lund; great-nieces & nephews, Greyson, Beckett, Nora, Olivia and Sophia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Noralene (Zech) Sempert and brother, Scott Sempert.
