Peggy's Memory Wall
We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Peggy here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
My big sister Peggy was always like a second Mom to me. Twelve years older, married with four children, she was always the picture of what a successful life was in the 50's. When I married and had my three children, we became good friends and were always there when needed even though we were so distant between Michigan and the East coast. She loved to travel, took a hot air balloon over the desert in Egypt, to Russia and other countries I have yet to see. We took a tour trip to Italy together after my husband died and I had fun showing her places off the beaten track. On my yearly visit to Michigan we found places to go closer to home.
Her passing has left a large hole in my heart especially since I cannot travel to Michigan for the garden service and to be with her family. My family wishes to say goodbye to their favorite aunt, who always remembered them with little presents for Christmas that were special and only opened on Christmas Eve. We will all miss her.

Our whole family is saddened by the loss Peggy. We still have designer jewelry she helped us make while working with the Girl Scouts of Singing Sands. She helped the girls and the mother leaders to help build better citizens out of our little ones. Peggy always had a cheerful, kindly attitude, insuring one felt welcomed in any venue.
She encouraged people to think for themselves and to concern themselves, politically, for the lives of all people. She was concerned with human rights and encouraged involvement in community.
Later on, it was a joy to see her working out at the St. Joseph Senior Citizen Center, continuing to build friends wherever she went. She dearly loved her husband, Mac, and her children. Her life was one of true service and love.

Peggy and son Pat were active in Berrien County Democratic Party politics. As a founding member of the Berrien County Democratic Women (BCDW), she brought her spiritual values, intelligence, wit and energy to our cause. She was a member of that generation who walked the talk. She was a naturally warm person with an eternal smile on her face. My sense is that Peggy was an asset to every organization she joined. My condolences to her family. She was a role model of a successful, loving life.

Dear Jean, Jack and Jim,
Our childhood was filled with picnics on the beach with your mom and mine, with parties
and celebrations, and just fun gatherings in those early 1960s. Your mom was like a second-mom to me. Generous, sympathetic and most of all, encouraging. In more recent years I chatted happily with your Mom in the third aisle of Martin's...
I am thinking of you all with very fond memories of your mom, your dad and Pat.
Sincerely,
Victoria Gillespie
