Richard's Memory Wall
We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Richard here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
Seymour was a man with many interests, always in pursuit of the next opportunity. He willingly shared life’s lessons with his coworkers at Whirlpool. But that wasn’t always the case: One of the earliest lessons he taught me was the wrong direction to feed lumber into a radial arm saw. That lesson had to be coaxed from him because he was embarrassed by the bump on his head. He had been rough cutting components for a grandfather clock, carefully pushing with a scrap of wood, when the work piece suddenly flew against the basement wall and ricocheted back to him. At the time I thought it was a freak accident. I didn’t know him very well yet.
The lessons continued, and the teacher’s skills evolved. After Seymour joined Whirlpool Toastmasters, we didn’t have to coax the lessons any more. Each Monday morning, we came to expect another narrative with multiple puns, punch lines, and chuckles.
When we remember Seymour, let’s recall a time when he brought smiles to our faces. Maybe you can even recall a time he brought on so much laughter that tears ran down your leg. That’s how he wanted to be remembered.
I’ll offer a toast; “two fingers of bourbon” to Seymour the Toastmaster.

Paula and Family,
Mr. "Richard" aka my flower man/dance partner had a ZEST for life. He will be sadly missed by so many! I bought MANY flowers from him on his 63 truck shop, and at his home. I LOVED visiting with him at the DANK and dancing.
May GOD bless all of you during this loss and give you strength.
