Marvin & Gretchen's Memory Wall
We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Marvin & Gretchen here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
We just learned that Gretchen and Marvin are now in glory with the Lord. They were so willing to give of themselves to help others and to share their musical gifts. In the formative years of our church, which is now called New Life Ev. Lutheran, Lake Zurich, IL, Gretchen served us faithfully as pianist for many worship services, even though it meant a lot more driving, early hours, and long Sunday mornings. We remember their zest for life, in spite of loss, and their enthusiasm to learn, particularly their interest in the Civil War. Our congregation plans to order new hymnals and related books this year, so Joe and I decided to dedicate the "Accompaniment for Services" in their memory. "My heart, O God, is steadfast, I will sing and make music with all my soul." Psalm 108:1

Nothing but awesome memories of Mr. and Mrs. Koch. Spending time with them after school at Jerusalem. Their son Marcus and I were best friends. Heartfelt condolences to Marcus and the Koch family.

Such bittersweet times. We will surely miss Marvin and Gretchen. but are filled with joy for them, enjoying eternity with Christ. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend on Saturday, but I plan to watch the service. Marvin was such a special cousin to us. And being older than us, he told me interesting things about Grandma and Grandpa Vogt, especially their house, that I never would have known otherwise. The first time I met Gretchen, I knew she was very special. I enjoyed being with them throughout the years. And, of course, being a cousin to both Paul and me, made our times together extra special.

Gretchen and Marvin Koch were such a wonderful couple and were so supportive of the members of Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Morton Grove Illinois. They not only donated their time and talents but shared their faith and their friendship. They will be missed and not forgotten, but also are starting a new beginning with each other in Christ.
