We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Don here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
I met Don, through a best friend. I came to love his humor, his passion for life and politics. He never missed a beat to tell the world about the injustices of our political system and how it needed to get better. He loved animals. He went all over the world and seemed to see it all. He had a great laugh. I loved sitting around the campfire and talking about everything. He will be missed so much. He lived his life as he wanted to and that is something to be said by anyone. Rest well.

No, Reynolds Lake won’t be same without Don. We will be missing our long chats around our campfire, his amazing stories and his heartfelt laughs. Our kids and grandkids loved their “ Mr, Donald Rumsfeld “ - that’s how they called him .
Farewell our friend until we meet again !
Our sincere sympathies to Crystal, Kelsey and Alex .

I enjoyed my years on the Lake board with Don, who was a wealth of information. But mostly I loved seeing him on the pontoon always cruising and trying to be the first boat in the water in the spring and the last one out in the fall.
Rest in heavenly peace, Don. My sincerest sympathies to Crystal and the girls.

I always remember Don as a standout student in my classes at Mona Shores High. I am truly pleased that he chose education as a career. May God grant his healing power to the family and eternal rest to Don.

Dear Crystal, Kelsey and Alex,
I am deeply saddened by the loss of your dad/husband. As you know Don was a very close friend of mine for over forty years. I remember with fondness our many adventures including his visit to El Salvador back in 1983. When he retired in 2004 I took his job at DHS and soon discovered I had some mighty big shoes to fill. He was a very charismatic and dynamic leader who cared for and was devoted to the well-being of his staff and students. Please know that I share with you the grief and despair you must fee at this difficult moment.

I had him when he was a young teacher -- so inspiring, so much fun, he made me love Spanish. We girls used to drive past his place all a twitter because he seemed so handsome and exotic. So sorry for Crystal and his girls & family. A great guy.

He was always so nice to me. I was a little unruly too lol. He will be missed and thankful I got to have him as a teacher. May god wrap his arms around the family and their hearts heal. Until we meet again Mr. Prediger thank you for caring about us kids.

I am very saddened to learn of the passing of Don. I served with him on the restorative justice program for youth and most recently the Van Buren County Network Committee. He loved people, fairness, and second chances. He will be missed.
