I am saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs Antonowitsch. I did not know her well, but as one of Angie’s friends from High School, she always welcomed me into her home with a smile and offers of cookies. She was a lovely soul.
My heart goes out to Angie and the Antonowitsch family.

A few photos of friends and family for Gertraud Antonowitsch. The Antonowitsch family would like to sincerely thank everyone that attended the funeral service and sent their condolences. During these challenging times we were very grateful for all the fond memories shared and appreciate all the support. We will do our best to catch up with the many freinds that were not able to attend and realize that your thoughts and prayers will be with Gertraud, family & friends. We would also like to reach out to the many members of the St. Joe Kickers Club, St. Matthew's Church, Scott Lake Camp Ground, Church Tackle Co., WMWC along with numerous close family & freinds for their support . Also a special thanks to Cameron Ondresky, Pastor Roth and the rest of the staff at Starks that made Gertraud's celebration of life a very special and honarable service.

I am so sorry to hear of Gertrude's passing. I met Gertrude 2 years ago at the Whitcomb, where my parents also live. My Dad, Herb Milnikel, enjoyed talking with her in German and sharing stories. She was a very sweet lady and lived a full life. May you and your family feel the peace of our Lord and Savior.

For the family of Gertraud Antonowitsch - my sincere sympathies. Mrs. Antonowitsch was a knid soul who spoke to everyone in an authentic tone. Always beautifully dressed and steady in her manner - she extended her hand to all people. She showed no prejudices. She lived her life as an immigrant working along side her husband and raised four children integrating them into the Lutheran School system. Then they spent their hard earned money (after War torn Germany), and used their skills to maintain the churche's structure. She and her husband valued the culture of their native Germany. Thus, they created the St. Joe Kicker's Sports Club - a place for German - Americans to enjoy their ethnic dishes, dance, socialize and offer soccer games that continue today for everyone. Lessons to be learned for those that divide in today's society. The German Immigrants filled the churches in this area and the private schools associated with those churches. They are now gone - their children moved to larger cities - and how are the churches looking now? What a heartache that in America we can't even sacrifice our time and a mask for a safer and better America, while others suffered unbelievable hardship and anguish and still knew how to embrace those around them. (The Club's Website exists without the names of the founders.) No respect for culture and the hard work/sacrifices made by the German Immigrants? That's indicative of our Community at large and some of the Pastors in the community.
Good Night Mrs. Antonowitsch. We are grateful for your journey, sacrifice and kindness.
