We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Bela here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
Bela was my supervising instructor during my student-teacher experience at Benton Harbor High School in 1974. He definitely made certain I developed the requisite skills that would allow me to become an educator at BHHS for the subsequent 36 years! Bela will most assuredly be missed. Nurse Davis & I send our deepest condolences to Jean and the family.

My condolences to the family of Mr. Bela Lindenfield. He was one of my most inspirational teachers in high school Benton Harbor High School Alumni. He was the first person to introduce the newest revolutionary concept of the early 90s..."the internet & email"....to me. Such a forward thinker who always challenged & respected his students. RIP Mr. Lindenfield and may God bless your beloved wife & family!

My 7th grade Civics teacher at Sorter, in the old building. I was in his class when he turned on the TV in the corner to watch the news feed when Pres Kennedy was shot and killed. He was the best teacher I ever had in my life. RIP

Mr Lindenfeld was our High School Psychology teacher. We both share many happy memories of his class and his high energy to teach. He always made his class fun and we both enjoyed him not only as a teacher but as a friend. Rest in Peace Mr Lindenfeld. We’re sure you will be missed. Our sincere condolences to Mrs Lindenfeld and family.

We remember Bela and Jean from over 35 years ago. We used to see him on a rather regular basis and remember how he had such a love for the ham radio. He used to tell us of some interesting stories of some of his experiences when he taught at Benton Harbor High School. We also remember some of the interesting things that took place in Mexico when he and Jean would go each summer. We have lost touch through the years because of moving out of state but our thoughts of Bela are fond ones. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this time Jean. May God give you strength during this time in your life.
Sincerely, Larry & Donna Williams

I knew Bela when he was a youth in high school, we were friends. Then I met him again, after many years when he was principal at Sorter School, where my children attended! He was a funny kid and a nice guy when grown, I wish I had gotten to know him even better. My sincere condolences to his family!

Bela and Jean have been great friends for many years. Bela had many accomplishments in Ham Radio with his call-sign of N8SHZ, achieving very high designation on world-wide communication and contacts, as well as being President of Blossomland Amateur Radio Association multiple times. We've kept in contact throughout the years. He'll be missed by all. 73, Bela de KX8D & N8JML : Barb & Duane Durflinger
