John was a dear and trusted friend, and Mary and I loved John and Justine from the first time we met them in 1972. An outstanding lawyer, and a great human being who loved his family and his country, John’s memory will be kept in our hearts. So will his dear, dear family.

Aunt Justine, Bill & I Just heard and am shocked. I had so hoped to visit you both this spring or summer and the darn pandemic (and B’s re-election challenge) through a huge wrench in my plans. We are so very sorry and extend our deepest sympathy to you, Ann, Mary, and your families. My sister and I would like to attend the service, if that is permitted, given social distancing/Covid 19 restrictions and hope to see you tomorrow.
Love, Gigi, Bill, Andrew, Matt, and Emily.

Dear Justine and family: We were so shocked and saddened to learn of John's death and especially grateful for Justine's call. We are even more saddened that we will not be there tomorrow. John was a remarkable person in so many ways and you both have been such wonderful friends over the years. We are so grateful for the time we spent together in Florida in early 2019. How wonderful to have worked with John over the years, enjoyed his friendship and shared his love of M football for decades. We will be thinking of you tomorrow and will keep you in our prayers. Justine and Family:
I am sorry that scheduled meetings will preclude my attendance at the visitation tonight and also the services tomorrow in honor of John. He was an excellent attorney, a great colleague and a good friend. As he entered retirement some twenty years ago, he arranged for me to succeed him with a significant client as I ended my position as CEO of the Firm. I will never forget his kindness. In recent years I enjoyed visiting with him at annual frim dinners. He will be missed, but all of our lives were enriched by his presence. You all are in my prayers. May the Good Lord now hold John where he belongs, in the palm of His hand.

I had the pleasure of working with John at Brookview over the last 4 years. I always looked forward to our chats and hearing him tell stories of the past, catch us up on his kids and grand kids and always offer support and guidance for whatever situation had come up. He was such a sweet and caring man and I will miss him greatly. Condolences to you all and thank you for sharing him with so many of us.

John, Justine, Ann and Mary have been family to Gayle, me and our children since our ABA/YLD days in the 1970s with skiing being a particularly fond memory. John was a strong force in making good things happen for our Country's justice system. He was incredibly competent in getting things done with justice system projects. He and Justine were always interested in caring for their ABA friends with joy and enthusiasm. Many fond memories. Life well lived John! Gayle and Bill Ide

Dear Family and Friends of John,
You have my condolences on the loss of a great, great friend, father, grandfather, colleague, lawyer, civic leader and just a good--good person. John was inclusive. John welcome me and my family into the world of the ABA and ABRA/ABRF. John embraced my children. John was an inspiration. John put family first and family also extended to all in his ambit. John went beyond being "color-blind" as he recognized the racial history and current circumstance of our nation. John invited us into his home, his family and his heart. The fond memories of times with John and the Krsul Crew range from Williamsburg to Hawaii and from Puerto Rico to Vancouver and, in particular, the beach and country club in southwestern Michigan. I am grateful to have known John and am shocked by his loss. May John's generous spirit live on through each of us that had the pleasure and privilege to know him. Justine, Ann, Leslie, Mary, Andy and all family, please accept my warm, virtual embrace on behalf of the Grady Family.
Lovingly, Graham

Our thoughts and prayers are with Justine and the entire family. I first met John in the late1970’s at an ABA meeting. Our paths crossed much to my benefit many times over our ABA careers. And there are many pictures to document it. Some of my fondest recollections resulted from John and I being a part of a group of ABA junkies who shared a love of baseball. Starting in 1998 we attended an annual baseball game around the country. In 1998 eight of us attended a game in Detroit, the last week of old Tiger Stadium. That was the first of 21 such adventures. John and I exchanged articles galore and shared many many conversations. In 2013 with the help of Allan Tanenbaum and his MLB connections, Justine and John drove to St. Louis to attend Game 3 of the World Series. My oldest grandson, an avid ball player (13 at the time), and I joined them. We had a ball. On our drive home, my grandson commented that they were such nice people and boy did John know his baseball. I told Jacob that John knows a lot about a lot of things and lives life to its fullest. And he did so with a lovely partner. Monday of this very week John and I exchanged email remembrances of our respective favorite baseball teams. We will miss him. He made this world a better place. May he Rest In Peace.
